Reggie had proven to be stronger than any of us had expected and managed to corner Megumi but he lost anyway at the end. Megumi used his demon dog to defeat Reggie Star by a sneak attack and we might get to see the beginning of a different arc in the upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 173.
The Colony 1 arc proved to be more interesting than we had expected. After witnessing Itadori defeating Higuruma only by his sheer will and strength we had low hopes for Megumi’s battle but it turned out to be one of the best until now.
Reggie appeared as a fraud but his techniques and style were far superior to many amateurs.
He was surely a new generational sorcerer with a very innovative cursed technique and the way he put it into use made it more powerful.
Reggie had died and there is no coming back for him. Although Megumi was not able to get his points killing him will surely transfer his points to him.
It would be interesting to see whether he gets only the points of the kill that he made or the points that Reggie collected also get transferred to him.
Itadori also has been looking for Megumi after completing his battle so we might get to see their reunion very soon. In the meantime, the other pieces of the puzzle are also moving and slowly but steadily we all are approaching a converging point.
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 173 Release Date
With half of his face gone Reggie is at his deathbed now and there is no coming back for him. He had used almost all his cursed energy and without the use of any external help, he will surely die in a few seconds.
With Reggie dead, the story might shift now. There is a chance that the story might finally shift but it may also take a chapter or two before Itadori and Megumi unite to leave Colony 1.
Some of the fans also like reading Raw Scans before the official release. So those fans can expect the Jujutsu Kaisen 173 raw scan to release around 28th January.
The upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 173 English official scan will be releasing in next week on 30th January 2022.

JJK 173 Discussion and Predictions:
The plot of Jujutsu Kaisen expanded exponentially and with different stories moving simultaneously the fans can hardly hold back their excitement. Our favorite Sensei is still locked inside the prison realm Kamo is still running free and we still don’t know what he is ultimately aiming for.
Megumi defeats Reggie Star:
The fight between Megumi and Reggie Star is finally over and as many of us had expected the wins go to Megumi’s side. His domain expansion proved to be the turning power as Reggie had never expected him to be that strong.
Although it was not what killed Reggie it proved to be a very crucial part of his plan.
Reggie put up a harder fight than any of us had expected. He had amazing physical strength and his cursed technique and energy only added to his strength.
Reggie managed to bear the weight of Max Elephant which will be almost impossible for a human body.
He even summoned a whole house in Megumi’s domain but Megumi canceled his domain very timely to avoid getting crushed. Although he managed to mark his win by allowing Reggie to forget totally about his Demon Dog whom he stepped when Reggie first came across Megumi.
The Success in Colony 1:
The mission at the Colony 1 proved to be a success as both Megumi and Itadori managed to secure the required pints. Although the original plan was for both of them to defeat Higuruma and get is 100 points Megumi also managed to get an additional around 50 points by Killing Reggie Star.
The story has expanded significantly and we also have to see if there are still more challenges left for Megumi and Itadori because they might not be able to eave the Colony. According to the rules of the Culling Games, the players can’t leave their Colonies until the end of the game.
We don’t know on which part the author will focus next but there is a huge chance that we might get to see Kamo or the players in Colony 1. The Colony 1 arc will surely be an interesting one as we might see the seniors of Jujutsu High, Panda, and Hikara Kinji going full power against the mysterious sorcerer of the past, Hajime.
