After a hilarious episode and setting up the power matchups, the next episode is likely to take a serious theme.
The next episode is likely to be the start of the introduction of the 7th floor. Maple and her gang will likely have to face another monster and find themselves in a difficult situation.
They will meet up with Mii and the kingdom if the Flame Emperor fights side by side.
The dynamic between Maple and Sally will also be developed leading them to fight each other. This is because Sally grows jealous of Maple.
We have to wait for the next episode to see which development the anime decides to take.
Bofuri Season 2 Episode 2 Recap
The Maple Tree guild fights the 4th floor’s final boss to advance to the fifth floor but Maple being sick is unable to join them.
Maple caught a cold on the day of the release of the fifth floor due to which she is late to the action.
She decides to face the boss all by herself. Struggling for a bit, she finally reigns victorious, just to realize her efforts went in vain as she quickly figured out that she fought the wrong boss.
Sitting outside disheartened she meets up with Frederica and her guild who have returned to face the 4th-floor boss again to help their low-leveled comrades.
Maple joins them and uses her newly acquired skill to summon demons easily taking down the boss on her own.
On the fifth floor, Maple meets up with Yui and Mai who have just been defeated by the thunder-operating monster. Along with Maple, they both return to the boss to rechallenge it.
On defeating the monster, Maple acquires the skill of “Throne of the Heavenly King” which increases her defense for long-range attacks and recovers HP.
The Maple Tree advances through to the sixth floor, the horror zone. Sally finds this floor’s theme unsettling.
Sally decides to stay on the 5th floor till the 7th floor is added but the “Accelerating Skill”, which allows flight on the 6th floor spikes her interest and along with Maple she heads to the game location.
They enter a haunted mansion where they are both separated, leaving Sally to fend for herself. She is scared out of her wits and hides.
Maple rescues her and they both acquire the skill of escaping the mansion.
And this brings about the conclusion to the episode.
Bofuri S2 Episode 2 Review
Maple’s charisma and laid-back character writing are the biggest selling for its fans to enjoy this anime. And this episode made use of this strong point.
There were many funny moments in this episode like when Maple uses her news-acquired horrific skills to summon a demon leaving Frederica’s jaw dropped. And the fact that she got this skill by fighting the wrong opponent makes it even more hilarious.
Yui and Mai’s wholesome interactions and their adorable fighting style are still fan favorites.
The second act of the episode distinctly focused on Sally’s timid nature and made use of this without boring the audience with overused jokes.
This episode emitted classic Bofuri vibes, and I, along with its fans thoroughly enjoyed it.
