From Hashira’s with superhuman strength to outright demons that defy reality, demon slayer has no shortage of strong characters in its storyline.
But this begs the question, who is the strongest Demon slayer character among them? Is it the legendary forefather of all Hashira’s? Is it the boss-sama of all demons, or is it our main character or some other hidden op?
After reading the entire manga of demon slayer and after some research we have put together a list of the top 10 strongest characters in demon slayer based on their feats and fights.

Top 10 Strongest In Demon Slayer Characters
All the demon and demon slayers from the Kimetsu no Yaiba: Demon Slayer manga and anime. Spoilers ahead so read at your own risk.
10) Muichiro Tokito
We are starting off our list with Muichiro Tokito, the youngest Hashira who is hailed as a child prodigy. Muichiro achieved the rank of Hashira after a mere 2 months of training and can easily overpower other powerful Hashira like Genya.
As the person who single-handedly killed upper moon 5 Gyokko, Muichiro surely deserves to be on this list.
9) Giyu Tomioka
Giyu Tomioka is the present water Hashira of the demon slayer corps.
Our silent but soft Hashira is not to be underestimated, he killed lower moon 5 Rui like squatting a bug and can stand toe to toe with Akaza who is the upper-rank number, and gets praised by Azaka for being the strongest water Hashira he has ever fought with and stall Muzan on his own for a decent amount of time.
8) Sanemi Shinazugawa
Sanemi is the current wind Hashira of the demon slayers corps and was known to be able to fight on par with Giyu to a draw in their sparring sessions but why did we rank him above Giyu?
Because this guy fought toe and toe with Upper rank one Kokushibo, even though he had help from Giyu and Muchiro, my guy certainly put up one hell of a fight against the strongest demon under Muzan.
7) Akaza
Akaza is our favorite antagonist in demon slayer and seeing him come to life with his own epic OST was thrilling. Ranked number 3 among the upper moon, Akaza is a force to be reckoned with.
He killed Kyojuro Rengoku in battle and it took both Giyu and Tanjiro to kill Akaza but even that was not enough, Akaza killed himself when he regained his memories of his former human life after Tanjiro dealt a devastating blow to Akaza.
6) Tanjiro Kamado
Starting off as a mere coal burner to the one who dealt the final blow to kill the demon king, Tanjiro truly is the main protagonist of demon slayer.
After his grueling training during the Hashira training arc, Tanjiro was able to stand alongside his peers in the demon slayer corps and even almost fatally wound Giyu, the water Hashira.
Tanjiro brought up a new era for the demon slayer corps and Hashira by helping everyone unlock the mysteries of the demon slayer mark and by using the sword and breathing techniques of the original demon slayer to defeat Muzan.
5) Doma
Doma is upper moon two and the demon who killed the previous flower Hashira Kanae Kocho and overpowered the insect Hashira Shinobu.
Even though Azaka is only one rank below him, Azaka mentioned that he is no match for Doma. Doma’s signature blood demon art, which is Cryokinesis, is an extremely lethal and powerful technique.
No one in the series had managed to straight up kill Doma in a plain fight, he succumbed to shinou’s poison and met his end.
4) Gyomei Himejima
Gyomei is the present strongest Hashira Even Though he is blind! and most probably the strongest Hashira in 300 years as stated by Kokushibo the Upper moon rank one.
Gyomei fights in a unique way using an axe with chains, this lets him have more range than traditional sword users and even keep up with Kokushibo who is a super strong swordsman Hashira with centuries of experience with the sword turned into a demon.
3) Kokushibo
Kokushibo is a former master swordsman and demon slayer called Michikatsu Tsugikuni turned into the Upper moon rank one by Muzan.
He is the only demon under Muzan who uses Breathing techniques, total concentration, and even a demon slayer mark as a demon for fighting his opponents.
It took the combined efforts of Sanemi , Gyomei , Muichiro, and Genya with three of them possessing demon slayer marks to land a single fatal injury on Kokushibo which he just brushes aside and continues fighting.
2) Muzan Kibutsuji
Muzan Kibutsuji is the king of all demons and their progenitor, killing countless humans and demon slayers, Muzan was a man who was living with the goal of being the most perfect living being.
He is the person who killed Tanjiro’s family, turned Nezuko into a demon, and the only demon who can turn humans into Demon
Muzan Kibutsuji can be seen singlehandedly overpowering four Hashira’s with demon slayer marks, Kanao Tsuyuri, Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Inosuke Hashibira but even this was not enough to defeat to demon king as he quickly turned the tides of the fight by using his thigh whips, injuring Tanjiro’s eye permanently and slicing off Giyu’s arms.
1) Yoriichi Tsugikuni
Of Course, it is Yoriichi Tsugikuni, aka the forefather of all demon slayers and the only one Muzan feared to the point of sending shivers down our Muzan’s spine just because he saw some earrings.
Yoriichi was born with the demon slayer mark without its side-effects of decreasing the demon slayer’s life span and some even say he was sent by the heavens to stop Muzan.
He effortlessly dodged all of Muzan’s attacks and fatally injured Muzan with just one blow causing our demon king to escape by blowing himself up into 1800 flesh pieces.
When you think about it, it took the entire demon slayer corps, tens of Hashiras, and even other demons all working together to corner Muzan and then barely defeat him in the final arc of demon slayer while our Yoriichi just casually soloed the final boss and made him flee after just one attack.
