Yu Ijin and Mad Dog
After Ijin was rescued by Mad Dog’s group, he was kept in the camp and told to learn all skills to cover up his medical costs for keeping him alive. It is revealed that they were gathering children to run some experimental missions through them.
Ijin, being a fast learner, becomes skilled enough to survive the training and gets chosen by Mad Dog to be in charge of the squadron, thus being named 001.
Mad Dog, with his harsh policies, wanted to get rid of all failures of the project by executing them, but Ijin comes in time to stop him from killing one cadet by declaring that since he’s the leader, he was also responsible for him now.
Mad Dog gets annoyed for getting interrupted but also comes to the conclusion that he will have fun beating 001 to exert his dominance over the other members. Thus throwing a knife to the ground, to ask Ijin to fight and win against him to let the failures live.
Giving no chance to grab the knife, Mad Dog keeps attacking Ijin while he dodges them to grab the knife back from the ground. Mad Dog was enraged at the fact that 001 who was nothing compared to him and couldn’t even follow the training in the beginning was putting up a fight against him, making him feel humiliated when Ijin countered his attacks.
Ijin observing an opening, goes all in and hits Mad Dog with the knife, scaring his face and damaging his left eye.
It was an incident many years ago that still disgraces him and puts him to shame, and he will not stop until he gets his revenge against Ijin for causing that scar, as it keeps reminding him of his incompetence.
With Mad Dog determined to kill Ijin, will he rest peacefully after 005 has cut all contacts from him? Mercenary Enrollment Chapter 99 will lead us to the next major event which is going to happen.
